Chris Smith Bio
Hello! I’m Chris, Chief Adventure Officer at Pride Adventures. I’ve been leading group trips for 25 years, starting in Arizona and then moving to California in 2014, where I founded California Gay Adventures in 2017 and, more recently, Pride Adventures. My passion is community building, traveling the world, and sharing outdoor adventures and experiences with others. My favorite journeys include Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand) in 2023 with 23 guys, and our most recent trip to Africa, where we visited five countries from South Africa to Zimbabwe—the people and safaris were spectacular. Feel free to reach out anytime at chris@darkslategray-ibis-451317.hostingersite.com.

Blue Lagoon Update – Transportation and Flights
(Optional Activity) On August 17, we plan to visit the Blue Lagoon (or an alternative destination, such as Sky Lagoon, if necessary). The group will depart Reykjavik around 9am using the Destination Blue Lagoon bus service, with reservations at 10am with plans to stay at the lagoon until approximately 2pm. You are welcome to leave earlier if needed based on your schedule. Transportation options include a direct transfer to Keflavik Airport, which is about 20 minutes away. If we switch to another destination, we will ensure that everyone with evening flights can arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before departure. Please note this activity is optional and not included in the tour package. To ensure smooth group coordination, please do not book any Blue Lagoon tickets or transportation until further communication is sent. I will assist in coordinating plans for those interested in joining. Let me know if you have any specific timing needs or questions!

Update: Blue Lagoon Status
We’ve have an update about the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. A volcanic eruption last week caused lava to reach the parking lot and damage some buildings, leading to the lagoon’s temporary closure. Thankfully, everyone was evacuated safely!
Iceland is known for bouncing back quickly, and there’s a chance the Blue Lagoon will reopen before our trip. We’re keeping an eye on it and will book our spots if it’s available. If not, we’ll plan a fun alternative, like the Sky Lagoon or another hot spring experience. For more details, check out this article: Lava Reaches Blue Lagoon.
Thanks for your flexibility—we’ll keep you posted!
