Welcome, fellow adventurers! I’m Mario, a local guide born and raised on the Osa Peninsula. It’s my pleasure to introduce you to the

spectacular wilderness of Corcovado National Park and share what awaits you in this enchanting corner of Costa Rica.
The Journey to Corcovado Wilderness Lodge
Your adventure begins with a journey into the heart of the Osa Peninsula. Depending on your mode of travel, you may fly or take a boat to reach the remote wilderness of Corcovado. Flying offers breathtaking aerial views of the coastline and rainforest. You’ll land at Drake Bay Airport, just a short drive from the lodge.

Alternatively, the boat journey from Sierpe to Drake Bay navigates the winding rivers through the dense mangrove forest before

emerging into the Pacific Ocean. This scenic ride is your first glimpse of the region’s incredible biodiversity, where you’ll see crocodiles, exotic birds, and more.
As you arrive at Corcovado Wilderness Lodge, you’ll be greeted by the sounds of the jungle, warm hospitality, and the mesmerizing beauty of the surrounding rainforest. This eco-lodge is designed to immerse you in nature while providing all the essential comforts.

Discovering Corcovado National Park
Our journey into the park starts at the break of dawn when the jungle is alive with the calls of howler monkeys and the chirping of tropical birds. We’ll set off along winding trails, crossing streams and maneuvering through the dense foliage. If we’re lucky, we may spot a family of curious spider monkeys, a bright keel-billed toucan, or even a majestic jaguar (a rare but thrilling sighting).

Mangroves and Coastal Exploration
Just a short boat ride away lies a labyrinth of mangroves where the rivers meet the Pacific Ocean. Here, you’ll see crocodiles sunning on the banks, scarlet macaws flying overhead, and caimans lurking in the brackish water. The coastline is equally magnificent, with pristine beaches where the jungle meets the sea. Our knowledgeable boat captains will guide us through the mangroves, sharing insights about the ecosystem.

Nighttime Bug Tour
After a day of exploration, the lodge offers a unique nighttime experience for those intrigued by the world of insects. As the sun sets, we’ll head out with flashlights in hand to uncover a hidden world teeming with spiders, frogs, and glow-in-the-dark scorpions. This tour is sure to captivate anyone with a curiosity for the unusual.

Snorkeling at Isla Caño
Another highlight is our snorkeling expedition to Isla Caño. The island’s marine reserve is a vibrant underwater world where colorful fish dart among coral reefs, and sea turtles glide gracefully through the water. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins playing in the surf as we journey back.

Embrace the Spirit of Pura Vida
Back at the lodge, unwind in the tranquil surroundings and connect with fellow travelers over a delicious meal of locally sourced ingredients. With the jungle as your backdrop, you can reflect on the day’s adventures, share stories, and recharge for the journey ahead. The spirit of “Pura Vida,” meaning “pure life,” permeates this special place, reminding us to appreciate the simple joys of nature and community.
